Keep Your Natural Nails Strong & Healthy

At Rhiannon’s Talons, we believe that beautiful nails start with a healthy foundation!

Whether you’re a loyal lover of our custom press-ons or enjoy going au naturel, taking care of your natural nails is key. Here are our top nail care tips to keep your nails looking and feeling their best.

Moisturise Your Cuticles Daily

Healthy cuticles = healthy nails!

Apply cuticle oil or hand cream daily to keep them soft and prevent cracks or hangnails. Dry, brittle cuticles can lead to weak nails over time.

File in One Direction

When shaping your nails, avoid sawing back and forth.

Instead, file in one direction using a fine-grit nail file. This prevents splits and keeps your nail edges smooth and strong.

Avoid Harsh Chemicals

Household cleaners and soaps can be rough on nails.

Always wear gloves when cleaning or doing dishes, and opt for gentle, sulphate-free hand soaps whenever possible.

Don’t Use Nails as Tools

We’ve all done it — opening cans, scratching off labels — but using your nails this way can lead to splits, cracks, and damage.

Treat them gently and use actual tools when needed!

Give Your Nails a Break

While we LOVE our press-ons, it’s a good idea to give your natural nails some breathing space every few weeks.

Use this time to nourish them with oils and serums, allowing them to strengthen and recover.

Nourish from the Inside Out

A healthy diet rich in biotin, vitamins, and plenty of water helps your nails grow strong.

Consider foods like eggs, nuts, leafy greens, and fish — all great for nail health!
